Neurotransmitter
depletion 5-HTP depletes dopamine: 5-hydroxytryptophan
(5-HTP) is one of the more popular nutritional supplements.
People taking this nutritional supplement on their own
have not seen what it does when thousands of patients are
treated with it. Make no mistake 5-HTP depletes dopamine.
Both serotonin
and dopamine must be at optimal levels
simultaneously for optimal
relief of symptoms. If dopamine levels are not high
enough 5-HTP will not work. It is common for people to
experience that 5-HTP quits working. In response to
this most people simply increase the daily dosing of 5-HTP.
This is the same approach used by doctors
when the reuptake inhibitors quit working
due to neurotransmitter depletion by the
drug, increase the dose. Simply increasing
the dose of 5-HTP sets up a situation where 5-HTP
depletes dopamine further.
As 5-HTP
depletes dopamine and the dopamine
levels drop low enough, the 5-HTP quits working. In
1998 NeuroResearch Clinics realized that 5-HTP depletes dopamine due to the fact that when the
5-HTP quits working giving the properly
balanced
dopamine nutrients tyrosine or L-dopa gets
the 5-HTP working again leading to restoration in
relief of symptoms. Recently scientific literature
has been published verifying these observations of
NeuroResearch Clinics. 5-HTP is not a benign
nutritional supplement. Long term use causes 5-HTP
to deplete dopamine. Even if dopamine
nutritional supplements such as tyrosine or L-dopa
are being taken with 5-HTP depletion can
occur. These nutrients need to be used in
proper balance with 5-HTP and neurotransmitter testing as indicated. In some cases the only way to achieve
the proper
balance of the 5-HTP with dopamine nutrients is
through neurotransmitter testing in order to prevent
a situation where 5-HTP depletes dopamine. |

NO SECRET:
Its 5-HTP
tyrosine dopa and cysteine with
neurotransmitter testing as indicated
Its no secret, NeuroResearch Clinics uses the nutrients 5-HTP, tyrosine, levodopa,
and
cysteine with neurotransmitter testing as indicted to treat depression
in order to get the results
documented by our doctors. Proper
use these simple
ingredients in depression treatment is not simple.
From time to time a patient will
say, "Why do I want to take that, I
can go to a health food store and
buy it for my depression?" People off the street
buying in a health food store is like going to an art
store and buying a bunch of oil
paints then going home and expecting
to paint like a master artist even
though there is no previous
painting experience. Overall this is some of
the most sophisticated depression treatment in
medicine. These nutrients have
tremendous depression treatment potential due to their chemical
properties. This potential is only
fully realized in the hands of the
trained professional. |
