Depression Treatment

Written by: Marty L. Hinz, MD

POSTED by J1237 Jan 31, 2009 06:59PM: I have suffered with severe depression and anxiety for about 10 years.  I was very, extremely skeptical about the NeuroResearch formulas after having been on a myriad of antidepressant SSRI's.  I thought it was just a money making scheme and I was scared. Let me just say that I'm glad I did my research and I'm glad I tried it because it has made a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.

DEPRESSION TREATMENT

The 100% Response

Depression: The first 30% to 45%

In depression studies, giving patients with depression a sugar pill (placebo) causes relief of depression symptom in 30% to 45%. This is "the placebo effect of depression".

Depression: 80% relief

For depression start level 1 nutrients. If depression symptoms are not under control in one week the depression nutrient dosing is adjusted. Three weeks after starting depression treatment with nutrient adjustments as needed 80% of depression patients achieve relief of depression symptoms.

Depression: 98% relief

With three weeks of depression treatment if depression symptoms are present, start neurotransmitter testing then adjust depression nutrients based on testing. This depression process may take one to two months. In depression the nutrients are adjusted in response to laboratory testing until relief of symptoms is obtain or both the serotonin and dopamine are in the desired range. With full adjustment to the desired range 98% of depression patients will achieve relief of depression symptoms.

Depression: 100% relief

Under depression treatment above 2% of depression patients do not respond. This represents depression due to bipolar illness where the depression component of the bipolar illness is dominant and they rare cycle from depression into the hypomanic or manic side then only briefly. Continue the depression nutrients and start a bipolar drug, in one week depression symptoms are relieved. With properly adjusted nutrients the usual starting dose of the bipolar drug for relief of depression symptoms in this last 2% of patients is all that is needed.

TIME LINE FOR RELIEF OF DEPRESSION SYMPTOMS

  • 1% of patients report immediate relief of depression symptoms with the first dose of nutrients.
  • 5% of patients report report relief of depression symptoms in the first 1 to 2 days of depression treatment.
  • 30% report relief of depression symptoms in the first week of depression treatment.
  • 80% report relief of depression symptoms in the first three weeks of depression treatment.
  • 98% report relief of depression symptoms in the first 1 to 3 months of depression treatment.
  • 100% report relief of depression symptoms in the first 2 to 3 months of depression treatment.

What to Expect

If you decide to seek depression treatment, "What can you expect?"

1. Get the symptoms of depression under control.

2. Get you off antidepressant drugs without relapse of depression symptoms if that is what you desire.

3. Depression treatment results are  individualized. Some depression achieves relief of depression symptoms in 1 or 2 days. Most depression patients with depression need a 2 to 4 weeks of treatment before achieving relief of depression symptoms. Then there are those depression patients who take 2 or 3 months for relief of depression symptoms. No matter how long relief of depression relief takes go through the process your depression will be gone and you will feel better than you have in a long time without depression.

Depression Treatment

Its no secret, NeuroResearch Clinics uses the nutrients 5-HTP, tyrosine, levodopa, and cysteine to treat medical patients in order to get these results. Proper use of these simple ingredients in medical treatment is not simple. From time to time a patient will say, "Why do I want to take that, I can go to a health food store and buy it?" People off the street buying in a health food store is like going to an art store and buying a bunch of oil paints then going home and expecting to paint like a mater artist even though there was no previous painting experience. These nutrients have tremendous potential due to their chemical properties. This potential is only fully realized in the hands of the trained professional using neurotransmitter testing. Treatment is not just giving a nutrient pill, it is the whole medical management approach doctors are trained in to insure that that treatment is on track in order to get symptoms under control.

The Peer Reviewed Research of NeuroResearch Clinics

The neurotransmitter treatment research findings of NeuroResearch Clinics have not been ignored. The University of Minnesota Medical School is writing a series of papers on the neurotransmitter testing research of NeuroResearch Clinics. The first of a series of papers by University of Minnesota Medical School based on the neurotransmitter testing research of NeuroResearch was published in "NeuroPsychiatric Disease and Treatment" May 1, 2009. Ingrid Kohlstadt, MD of Johns Hopkins in her new medical text book released February 7, 2009 included a chapter on depression written by Marty L. Hinz, MD  President Clinical Research NeuroResearch Clinics outlining in depth the proper use of amino acids and neurotransmitter testing in treatment of depression.
