Depression: A Paradigm Shift in
Treatment
In the past there were three options
available for treatment of
depression.
-
Prescription drugs for depression
-
Psychotherapy for depression
-
Self
treatment of depression
Formal medical studies of
depression reveal that
psychotherapy and prescription
drugs are about equally
effective. In comparison with
placebo or no psychotherapy for
depression about 7% of patients
who take drugs for depression or
using psychotherapy for
depression get relief of
depression symptoms that is
better than placebo for
depression or psychotherapy for
depression.
There are many depression self
treatment options, none have shown to be
more effective than placebo in
formal studies. 5-HTP is a
popular depression self treatment.
It is not hard to find claims that
5-HTP is effective for depression.
All formal depression medical studies
of 5-HTP
have not been able to
demonstrate any depression effectiveness.
Best 5-HTP depression studies simply end
with, "More studies are needed
to verify effectiveness".
It is not the
nutrients but the nutrients in properly
balance with neurotransmitter
testing that was the key to unlocking
the potential of these nutrients in depression
treatment. There have been no reports
of a patient whose depression failed to respond when the
depression protocol was followed properly.

The 5-HTP, Tyrosine, levodopa, and
cysteine Neurotransmitter Code
Intuitively it makes sense, 5-HTP should work
for depression treatment. 5-HTP has
not proven effective in depression
studies. In depression studies "the placebo effect" is
huge. 30% to 45% of patients taking
placebo achieve relief of
depression. This causes depression
confusion with the doctor.
In giving 5-HTP for depression it appears that about half
of the depression patients get better
concluding, "5-HTP works for
depression" while forgetting almost
half of depression patients get
better if you simply give placebo
for depression. Medical studies
confirm 5-HTP is no better than
placebo in depression.
NeuroResearch unlocked the
depression treatment code for using
serotonin nutrients, dopamine
nutrients, cysteine, with
neurotransmitter testing. This
is depression treatment with
stunning results in difficult
depression cases.
Since 2004 there has been no depression treatment failure
reported in depression patients who
were compliant with depression care.
For chronic depression this may be
depression treatment that gets
depression under control.

Its no secret, NeuroResearch Clinics uses the nutrients 5-HTP, tyrosine, levodopa,
and cysteine to treat medical
patients in order to get these
results. Proper
use of these simple ingredients in
medical treatment is not simple.
From time to time a patient will
say, "Why do I want to take that, I
can go to a health food store and
buy it?" People off the street
buying in a health food store is
like going to an art store and
buying a bunch of oil paints then
going home and expecting to paint
like a mater artist even though
there was no previous painting
experience. These nutrients have
tremendous potential due to their
chemical properties. This potential
is only fully realized in the hands
of the trained professional using
neurotransmitter testing. Treatment
is not just giving a nutrient pill, it is the whole medical management approach doctors are trained in to insure that that treatment is on track in order to get symptoms under control.
The Peer Reviewed Research
of NeuroResearch Clinics
The neurotransmitter treatment research findings of NeuroResearch Clinics
have not been ignored. The University of
Minnesota Medical School is writing a series of
papers on the neurotransmitter
testing research of NeuroResearch Clinics. The
first University of Minnesota Medical School neurotransmitter testing
paper has been accepted for publication in "The
Journal of NeuroPsychiatry". It will be published in March of 2009. Ingrid
Kohlstadt, MD of Johns Hopkins in her new
medical text book released February 7, 2009
included a chapter on depression written by
Marty L. Hinz, MD President Clinical
Research NeuroResearch Clinics outlining in
depth the proper use of amino acids and
neurotransmitter testing in treatment of
depression.
