 ANXIETY PANIC

Depression, anxiety, and panic are all closely tied together. If a patient has panic attacks you need to look for anxiety then if the patient has anxiety you need to look for depression.

Traditionally in medicine anxiety and panic attacks are thought to be a function of the neurotransmitter GABA. NeuroResearch Clinics through its pioneering work in the area of anxiety and panic attacks has demonstrated that GABA is controlled by the serotonin and dopamine neurotransmitter systems. With optimization of the serotonin and dopamine system 100% of patients with anxiety and panic attacks achieve relief of symptoms. Relief of anxiety and panic attacks symptoms is a much higher quality than seen by addressing only the GABA system alone or use of prescription drugs.

Patient Testimonial

“I am taking Neurotransmitters to get my anxiety under control. It’s BEEN A LIFE SAVER. I have been on Neurotransmitters for 10 days. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I am getting better with each day.” - David B.

Traditional medical treatment of anxiety and panic attacks primarily involves the use of two prescription drug classes. The first class is the "minor tranquilizers" such as valium, Xanax, etc. Minor tranquilizers are addicting and do nothing to address the real cause of anxiety and panic attacks, neurotransmitter imbalance. Tranquilizers work by treating the symptoms and not the problem. The second group of prescription drugs used to treat anxiety and panic attacks are the serotonin reuptake inhibitor drugs which are commonly used to treat depression. While these drugs have never been approved by the FDA for treatment of generalized anxiety and panic attacks doctors prescribe them primarily because they have nothing else to treat with. A major problem with the reuptake inhibitor drugs is that they deplete neurotransmitters making the cause of anxiety and panic attacks worse, neurotransmitter levels that are not high enough and are not in proper balance. In some cases with use of reuptake inhibitor drugs neurotransmitter depletion is so severe that the risk of suicide develops. In the left column of this web page is a listing of reuptake inhibitor drugs. When you click on each of these drugs the formal FDA required prescribing information will open. At the top of the first page of the prescribing information with most of these drugs is a warning about "clinical worsening" and the risk of suicide developing. When these drugs deplete neurotransmitter levels enough the drug quits working, the symptoms of the disease get worse then if the neurotransmitter depletion is severe enough the patient becomes suicidal. For people currently taking minor tranquilizers and/or reuptake inhibitor antidepressant medications the approach of NeuroResearch Clinics is excellent in getting them off these drugs.

The link at the top left of this web page titled, "The Disease" leads to a discussion and listing of some of the neurotransmitter diseases associated with serotonin and dopamine that can be treated with the NeuroResearch Clinics approach. In people with anxiety, panic attacks, or any of the other diseases, most have 3 or more neurotransmitter diseases active at the same time. Yet the treatment is the same for each of these diseases because the cause of the problem is the same. The treatment is to optimize the serotonin and dopamine neurotransmitter levels with the nutritional formulas guided urinary neurotransmitter testing if needed. About 80% of people treated do not need urinary neurotransmitter testing for relief of symptoms. Urinary neurotransmitter testing is reserved for cases where relief is not obtained under the initial nutritional formula protocols in the first 3 to 4 weeks.

Holding out that 100% of people achieve relief from depression, anxiety, and panic attacks when treated with the natural nutritional formulas under the protocols developed by NeuroResearch Clinics sets a high bar, but these are the results we are seeing in clinics everyday.

FROM PEER REVIEWED

LITERATURE

The serotonin and/or catecholamine system has a role, either directly or indirectly, in controlling most of the other systems and functions in the body.  For example, cortisol synthesis is control in part by norepinephrine. Hormone synthesis is dependent on norepinephrine. The sympathetic nervous system is controlled by norepinephrine. Other neurotransmitter systems are partially controlled by the serotonin and/or catecholamine systems.  For example, the GABA neurotransmitter system is associated with control of anxiety and panic attacks. Yet when the serotonin and/or catecholamine neurotransmitter levels are brought to proper levels, as confirmed by lab testing, these diseases may be fully under control. This would indicate control of GABA by the serotonin / catecholamine system even though at this time we have been unable to identify a chemical pathway for such in the literature.

Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Depression, anxiety, and panic attacks are closely linked together.
Anxiety and panic attacks traditionally are thought to be controlled by GABA.
NeuroResearch Clinics has demonstrated that GABA is controlled by the serotonin and dopamine systems.
Optimization of serotonin and dopamine leads to relief of anxiety and panic attack symptoms.
The standard approach in medicine to treating anxiety and panic attacks is to use drugs that are addicting or deplete neurotransmitters of the brain causing habituation.
