Insomnia Symptoms: Doctors associate a variety of signs and symptoms with insomnia. Often, the symptoms intertwine with those of other medical or mental conditions.

-Some people with insomnia may complain of difficulty falling asleep or waking up frequently during the night. The problem may begin with stress. Then, as you begin to associate the bed with your inability to sleep, the problem may become chronic.

-Most often daytime symptoms will bring people to seek medical attention. Daytime problems caused by insomnia include the following:

-Poor concentration and focus
-Difficulty with memory
-Impaired motor coordination (being uncoordinated)
-Irritability and impaired social interaction
-Motor vehicle accidents because of fatigued, sleep-deprived drivers

People may worsen these daytime symptoms by their own attempts to treat the symptoms.

-Alcohol and antihistamines may compound the problems with sleep deprivation.
-Others have tried nonprescription sleep aids.

Insomnia Symptoms: Discussion

Symptoms of insomnia may be intertwined with other disease or not intertwined (idiopathic). NeuroResearch Clinics has adapted the following definition of insomnia symptoms.

"Chronic significant insomnia" is the classification for insomnia that interferes with sleep to the point that the patient is not get fully rested on a long term basis (many months or years) leading to decreased mental and physical performance.

"Chronic Severe Insomnia" was defined by NeuroResearch Clinics in research as sleep of several month duration or more where the patient sleeps only 3 or 4 hours a night with frequent wake ups of 20 minutes or more.

Symptoms of insomnia are very straight forward, "sleep that does not leads to a state of being fully rested".

No matter what the cause of chronic insomnia, optimization of the neurotransmitters that control sleep is indicated. The neurotransmitter control sleep and are the cause of chronic insomnia in most cases. Giving sleeping pills, attempting "sleep hygiene" strategies, using melatonin, etc. only treats the symptoms without addressing the real cause of the problem.

The NeuroResearch Clinics Approach to Treating Insomnia Symptoms

Its no secret, NeuroResearch Clinics uses the nutrients 5-HTP, tyrosine, levodopa, and cysteine to treat medical patients in order to get the results documented by our doctors, Proper use these simple ingredients in medical treatment is not simple. From time to time a patient will say, "Why do I want to take that, I can go to a health food store and buy it?" People off the street buying in a health food store is like going to an art store and buying a bunch of oil paints then going home and expecting to paint like a mater artist even though there was no previous painting experience. Having been in medicine since 1972 I can firmly state that use of 5-HTP, tyrosine, levodopa, and cysteine, in medical clinics, with urinary neurotransmitter testing is some of the most sophisticated medical treatment in medicine. These nutrients have tremendous potential due to their chemical properties. The potential is only fully realized in the hands of the trained professional. Treatment is not just giving a nutrient pill, it is the whole medical approach doctors are trained in to manage the disease properly and make sure that that the whole treatment plan is on track to get symptoms under control.
