Insomnia-Alternative
Medicine: I
like
to
think
of
"alternative
medicine"
as
the
medicine
that
insurance
companies
will
not
pay
for.
Beyond
the
"sleep
hygiene"
approach
and
the
sleeping
pills
is
"alternative
medicine"
claiming
to
offer
a
natural
treatment
approach
to
insomnia. |
| |
Insomnia-Alternative
Medicine:
Melatonin
|
|
is
found
in
the
brain
and
works
to
control
sleep.
Many
care
givers
prescribe
melatonin
as
an
alternative
form
of
treatment
for
insomnia.
But
what
do
the
studies
reveal?
The
following
statement
is
typical
of
formal
double
blind
placebo
controlled
studies
addressing
the
effectiveness
of
melatonin,
"There
was
no
evidence
that
melatonin
altered
total
sleep
time".
It
would
seem
if
people
are
having
a
problem
sleeping,
getting
them
more
sleep
is
the
key
to
fixing
the
insomnia.
Yet
the
formal
studies
on
melatonin
conclude
that
melatonin
did
not
alter
sleep
time.
If
someone
feels
they
are
doing
better
with
melatonin,
take
it. |

Insomnia-Alternative
Medicine:
5-HTP >>>Serotonin
|
|
some
alternative
care
giver
try
to
use
5-HTP
to
address
insomnia.
5-HTP
is
converted
to
serotonin
in
the
brain
then
serotonin
is
converted
to
melatonin.
This
is
the
rational
behind
using
5-HTP
to
treat
sleep
problems.
The
problem
is
using
only
5-HTP
can
do
more
harm
than
good.
5-HTP
depletes
dopamine
with
long
term
use.
Synthesis
of melatonin
from
serotonin
is
controlled
by
norepinephrine.
Norepinephrine
is
made
from dopamine
which
is
burnt
out
if
you
use
only
5-HTP.
By
using
only
5-HTP
you
deplete
dopamine
and
norepinephrine
and
the
whole
system
is
made
worse
with
time. |
|
|
|
|
The
only
way
to
address
the
melatonin
and
sleep
properly
and
optimally
is
by
using
serotonin
and
dopamine
nutrients
in
proper
balance
with
neurotransmitter testing
as
indicated
which
in
turn
allows
the
brain
to
make
the
melatonin
needed
and
not
force
feeding
melatonin
periodically
with
melatonin
pills.
This
is
the
NeuroResearch
Clinics
approach.
Restoring
the
sleep
system
of
the
natural
chemicals
in
your
brain
addresses
the
cause
of
chronic
insomnia
and
does
not
simply
treat
the
symptoms. |

The NeuroResearch Clinics
Insomnia-Alternative
Medicine Overview |
|
Its no secret, NeuroResearch Clinics uses the nutrients 5-HTP, tyrosine, levodopa, and cysteine to treat medical patients
in order to get the results
documented by our doctors, Proper
use these simple
ingredients in medical treatment is not simple.
From time to time a patient will
say, "Why do I want to take that, I
can go to a health food store and
buy it?" People off the street
buying in a health food store is like going to an art
store and buying a bunch of oil
paints then going home and expecting
to paint like a mater artist even
though there was no previous
painting experience. Having been in
medicine since 1972 I can firmly
state that use of 5-HTP, tyrosine,
levodopa, and cysteine, in medical
clinics, with urinary
neurotransmitter testing is some of
the most sophisticated medical
treatment in medicine.
These nutrients have tremendous
potential due to their chemical
properties. The potential is only
fully realized in the hands of the
trained professional. Treatment is
not just giving a nutrient pill, it is the whole medical approach
doctors are trained in to manage the
disease properly and make sure that
that the whole treatment plan is on
track to get symptoms under control. |
